The huge riff that opens Strange Cages’ latest track ‘Dance Like An Alpha Male’ is full of post-punk energy, before the dip in dynamic for the verse rings true of the loud-soft formula of bands such as Pixies and Nirvana. A bold vocal delivery combines with the noisy guitar work, giving off a vibe similar to that of the likes of King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard and IDLES. All of these inspirations combine with a truly unique songwriting style that should fill their upcoming debut album Pop Therapy, due for release on 13^th September 2019 through Acid Box. Of the tune, the band state: “Sometimes it’s good to take a look at your own actions over the last 24 hours to decide whether they’re really coming from you or if they are an imitation of something else. Once you’ve done that, you can have a little freak out and then go back and start learning how to be more of a genuine human being”. -Dan Peeke
